Thursday *JH (PM1A) – IEW Writing (Based on U.S. History)

ONE YEAR CLASS:

This theme-based writing curriculum allows students travel back in United States history and delve into the excitement of explorers, battles, land expansion, famous ships, and founding fathers while learning to write with the IEW Structure and Style® writing method. They will learn how to pull key information from source texts, create key word outlines, and develop well-structured paragraphs. This writing curriculum takes students through multiple writing styles including retelling narrative stories, summarizing references, writing from pictures, inventive writing, the formal essay, and a formal critique and response to literature. Students will also build their vocabulary and learn different parts of speech to enrich their writing.
