*Tuesday HS (AM0B) – American Sign Language 1

ONE YEAR CLASS:

In this HS course, students will be challenged to learn the basic fundamentals of American Sign Language and become sufficient in ASL vocabulary, syntax, grammar, and linguistic facial expressions. Students will be able to use their acquired skills in real-life situations and apply what they’ve learned. Furthermore, they’ll develop a well-rounded understanding of Deaf Culture and the Deaf Community.  Students will be tested on their receptive and expressive skills in American Sign Language.  This is done by means of tests, quizzes, and class participation requirements.  The contents of this course equate to one year of high school-level foreign language credit.
