*Tuesday HS (AM2A) – Creative Writing

ONE YEAR CLASS:

In this class, students will explore the fundamentals of writing structure, learning how to outline their ideas into well formed narratives. This is not a class where students get to write whatever they want in any form, but instead a deep dive into the study of WHY their favorite stories WORK. Once the class has broken down some of the classics like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, etc., the students will identify the beats, actions, and structures that make these stories timeless and apply this knowledge to their own short story they will develop throughout the class. The finished short story will have a minimum page count of 10 and no maximum number. Students will engage in workshops and peer reviews in class to learn critical thinking and communication in a creative and professional way.
