*Tuesday *JH (PM3) – Intro to Ceramics 1

ONE SEMESTER:

This Introduction to Ceramics is an entry-level course in ceramic and painting techniques.  We will be using clay to make pinch and slab projects, and we will be working on pre-fired bisque projects.  We will use glazing and acrylic staining techniques to finish our projects.  In this class we will also learn what clay and glazes are made of, and what happens to them when they go through the firing process.  This class is time-sensitive and dependent on attendance and participation, both in class and on work done at home.   Students will be required to come to class with their tool kit each week, and to be diligent to make sure their projects are turned in on time for firings.
