This continuing year-long science class is based on state/national science content standards for kindergarten and first grade. The focus of student learning will be on developing observation skills to investigate, predict, compare, describe, question, and communicate what they discover about the world around them. In Physical Science: understanding the five senses and using them to learn about matter. In Life Science: extend what they have learned from previous experiences about plants and animals through comparison of their characteristics, needs, life cycles, and habitats. In Earth Science: studying land, air and water, including weather, tools used to collect information, and good stewardship with resources. We will use a variety of modes of learning, including hands-on activities, pencil-paper tasks, various crafts to support the content presented in class. A major goal of this class to encourage an interest in and love for God’s creations all around us. *New students are welcome to join this class!
