8-Week Off Campus Class – 8 student maximum:
This fun class for jr. high and high school students will teach students a variety of woodworking skills by completing diverse projects designed to introduce techniques, methods, and machines, including safety, hand tool use, measuring, layout, cutting, assembly, joinery and finishing. In the class there will be more advanced projects that will include the use of small power tools such as a Band Saw, Router, Miter Saw and Sanders. The students will also learn about the properties of wood species and wood grain in how it is cut, dried, sold, and the best products to use in specific designs. Projects will be assigned according to skill and progress in the class, and all projects will be completed to take home at the end of class. (No use of Table saw will be allowed).
The class will be taught at the teacher’s woodworking shop in Wildomar, just off the 15 freeway. Mr. Lund has been a long-time friend of our director, and has been in the woodworking business in the Temecula Valley for several decades. He is a wonderful godly man who wants to share his skills with our students. He enjoys teaching students his woodworking skills with patience, safety and creativity, guiding students to create one-of-a-kind wood pieces.
