Emotions are a regular part of every middle school girl’s world. This study addresses anger as an emotion that can encompass frustration, agitation, being upset, and a variety of other feelings. However, anger is often times an emotion that comes because of an inability to deal with other feelings. God never said, “don’t be angry,” but He did say when we’re upset we shouldn’t sin. That’s a tough line to walk. But there are godly and appropriate ways students can respond to situations that stir up their emotions. Often times, being upset can appear as open aggression where girls bully one another, lash out at family member or friend, or suppress their feelings in an unhealthy way. Through activities that include reading and responding to stories about a fictional teen, students will learn to recognize their feelings and see that they have choices, and they can choose healthy and Godly ways to express their emotions.
