Class Description:

ONE YEAR CLASS – Accepting New Students for Spring Semester:

This class will satisfy the Health requirement for high school credit. Students will explore the physical, nutritional, emotional, social, mental, and spiritual aspects of growing into a healthy adult. Students will study the human body systems, senses, genetics, temperaments, and physical influences on thoughts and feelings, emotional stability, mental illness, the value of another human being, our culture, our biological sex as related to our gender roles, our families, socialization, communication skills, and conflict resolution skills. Nutrition will be studied including an in-depth dive into both macronutrients and micronutrients, as well as the importance of exercise and proper diet. The reproductive systems will be covered, including respectful discussions of the act of marriage, sexual misconduct, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases. This course will also include respectful and godly discussions on sensitive topics such as alcohol and drug abuse, depression, and pornography. The art of making good choices while relying on God’s faithfulness and provision will be stressed throughout the year.
