Class Description:

ONE YEAR CLASS:

This course offers a compelling look at forensic science through a distinctly Christian lens for students interested in exploring the intersection of science, faith, and the pursuit of truth. If you’re seeking thoughtful, biblically grounded responses to topics like creationism versus evolution, this is the course to take.

Designed as a two-semester alternative lab science for high school credit, this course may count as a third-year science or science elective once core requirements have been met. Students will examine more than twenty scientific disciplines involved in forensic investigation, learning how these fields support the judicial system.

Built on Master Books’ Intro to Forensic Science: A Biblical Worldview, the curriculum highlights God as the ultimate Designer of scientific order and the importance of Christian integrity in investigative work. Students will sharpen observation skills, explore the structure and application of forensic disciplines, and develop a Kingdom-minded approach to scientific inquiry.

Each lesson integrates Scripture to reinforce foundational truths while distinguishing between real-world forensic science and the dramatized portrayals in entertainment media. Case studies—featuring both famous and lesser-known criminal investigations—offer practical insight into investigative techniques, time frames, and judicial outcomes.

Because of the mature content covered in certain case studies, this course is recommended for 11th and 12th-grade students. The theme of creation versus evolution is woven throughout, affirming that God’s Word stands as the ultimate source of truth, and could also count as part of Bible credit.

*Students will need a handheld pocket microscope (suggest Mini Microscope 60x-120x LED Lighted Portable Handheld Pocket Microscope – Amazon $9.99)
