ONE YEAR CLASS
This high school class will examine the complexities of the current criminal justice system. Students will be challenged to think critically about crime, determine just consequence, the rule of law, historical and modern policing in America, and institutional corrections, rehabilitation and recidivism. Through in depth discussion and analysis of current crime/incarceration rates, students will be gain a fundamental understanding of the sociology of crime and deviance in our society. Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior, so the class will look at these issues in light of God’s Word. Careers in Criminal Justice & Sociology will also be introduced and explored.
