Class Description:

ONE SEMESTER CLASS:

Understanding technology starts by using technology.  Many courses specialize on a specific topic that may lack context, importance, or relevance to the student learning it.  The goal of this course is to give the students a perspective on the vast world of technology.  Where it came from, where it is at, and where it is going.  The following areas will be covered over the duration of the course

  1. Technology Primer – What is it and why we use it.
  2. Common software and tools
  3. Artificial Intelligence
  4. Internet (Security, Safety, Use, Architecture, and History)
  5. Computer Hardware, and Electronics
  6. IOT (Internet of Things) and Technology everywhere
  7. Robotics
  8. Gaming and CGI
  9. Software Development
  10. Data
  11. Security and Internet safety

The intent is to give the students a wide range of knowledge and the skills to use technology in a productive and safe manner. Students will need a laptop/device to use each week.
