*Wednesday 5-8th (PM2A) – Beginning ASL 1

ONE YEAR CLASS – Accepting New Students for Spring Semester:

This class is a jr. high level class that will be a slow-paced introduction to American Sign Language. They will learn the alphabet, basic vocabulary, and become familiar with ASL’s grammatical structure.  Furthermore, they will be exposed to the complexities of Deaf Culture and what it means to be Deaf.  Students will learn how to communicate with Deaf people and navigate visual language in real-life.  Students will also be able to participate in a Deaf program each semester. Additionally, this class will provide a strong foundation for those planning to take ASL in high school.

*Same curriculum used for this class is used for first year American Sign Language in high school.
