*Wednesday *K (AM2A) – Intro to Phonics & Learn to Read

ONE YEAR CLASS:

This class is designed for early kindergarten students or students who need help with letter sounds and decoding words. In the first semester, students will be introduced to phonics with the focus on learning to write letters and practice their sounds (phonics) in a systematic fashion. It then moves to having students decoding words and sentences (reading) along with writing out those words they learn. The class will continue into the second semester so students can become more fluid readers, reinforcing phonics and having lots of reading practice. This will help students gain ease and confidence in reading to themselves and aloud. And there will be more practice and working on printing out sentences to improve their writing skills too. First graders are welcome too!
