In this continuing one-year course, students will be challenged to learn the basic fundamentals of American Sign Language. Using their skills acquired in the classroom, students will be able to apply what they have learned in real life scenarios. Students will become sufficient in ASL syntax, grammar, facial expression, and knowledge of Deaf Culture. Students will be tested on both receptive and expressive skills in American Sign Language by means of tests, quizzes, and class participation. This course provides the requirement as the first year of foreign language for high school students. *New students welcome to join this class mid-year if currently taking ASL 1 and with teacher approval!
