Thursday Elective HS (AM2A) – Beginning Ceramics 1

ONE SEMESTER CLASS:

This new elective class for high school will introduce the students to the world of ceramics.  They will be using clay to make projects like pinch pots, coil bowls, and slab pots, etc., and use glazing techniques to finish their projects.  They will also learn what clay and glazes are made of, and what happens to them when they go through the firing process.  This class is dependent on attendance and participation, both in class and on work done at home.  Students will be required to come to class with their tool kit each week, and to be diligent to make sure their projects are turned in on time for firings.
