ONE YEAR CLASS:
ALL students must apply and complete an interview process to be chosen for ASB. This is a year-long club for our Grace students and is the Associated Student Body of Grace Homeschool. The elected office seats are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasure, Spirit Representative, Jr High Representative, and FCS Representative (Fundraising & Community Service). Student teams will be Community Service, Newsletter, Yearbook and Events. Students chosen to be in ASB will be able to run for office and be elected by the upper grade student body. The ABS Club students will learn how to run meetings, plan events, design the Grace yearbook, volunteer within the community, do fundraising, and learn to work as a team in these areas. Even if a student does not hold an office seat, they can learn and be an important part of ASB. Students can also earn community service hours for helping at activities and events done outside of class. Being part of ASB looks great on college transcripts too!
Requirements to be in ASB:
Students 8th & up must complete the application and interview and have a 3.0 or higher GPA. Students chosen to be a part of ASB will need to attend 6 events per school year. Students must have taken or be enrolled in the Leadership class. Students must have their own Gmail account or access to email. Students will need to be in group text even if it’s on parent’s phone. All students must choose a team even if you are on a board seat. Students must have “Remind App” as this is how the teacher will communicate to them fast. Students must have access to a phone, computer, printer and occasionally Zoom for some meetings. Students must have a planner or calendar to bring each week. Students must also meet over the summer time (dates and location will be given at a later date). Parents of ASB students must agree to help with 1 event per school year.
