ONE YEAR CLASS – Class currently full but new students can join this class mid-year for any open spots that may become available:
“This one-year course helps students understand history from the perspective of faith in God and respect for His Word. In addition to reading the narrative about events, issues, and people from our nation’s heritage, students read the words of people who made history in original documents, speeches, poems, stories, and hymns. The students will survey American history from the time of the Native Americans and first European explorers to the administration of President Obama. The course discusses actions and developments on the national level, especially involving the Federal government, as well as issues and events in American culture. The course places special emphasis on the role of slavery and subsequent racial issues in America.” Class time at Grace will consist of review, lecture, discussions, presentations and in-class quizzes, while work at home will be reading text, answering questions, taking tests, doing projects assigned. There will be Scripture memory work for extra credit.
